Laura Criado Sánchez has a sound legal and linguistic education as well as a wealth of experience as a translator, interpreter, proofreader and style editor.
Her working languages are Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Since 2010, she has worked as a text proofreader, style editor, translator and interpreter from Portuguese to Spanish, and as an English-Spanish translator. Her clientele consists of various publishers, law firms, translation agencies, companies and individual clients.
She specializes in legal, economic, financial, accounting, corporate and administrative fields. She has mastered areas such as philosophy, communications, training, tourism, the hospitality industry, advertising, marketing, human resources and media.
Laura Criado Sánchez received a Law degree from the University of Salamanca, Spain, and has also completed various courses in accounting, taxation, European law and European economic law, all of which has contributed to her comprehensive legal knowledge.
Her linguistic training has been continuous throughout her career and she has developed skills in various education centres and universities in Spain, including five years in São Paulo, Brazil, and a year in England, where she gained further instruction and grounding. She still maintains strong professional links with Brazil and travels there regularly.
She did a postgraduate course in Portuguese-Spanish Translation at UGF, a university in Brazil, and she is a Specialist in English-Spanish Legal Translation, by the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. She has got a Post-graduate Certificate in Civil and Commercial Mediation, by CEDECO in association with Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid, Spain. Also, completed an academic writing course for a postgraduate degree in Portuguese, at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and an English-Spanish Translation course, at Estudio Sampere, School of Translators and Interpreters, Madrid. In addition, she studied a Superior Portuguese Language Course, getting the C2 level, in the University of Lisbon.
Amongst her more distinguished work are several books and a multitude of doctoral theses, monographs, academic articles and web pages. She also has significant experience as liaison interpreter for public organizations at commercial events, fairs and business meetings.
